In the first 24 hours, we rendezvoused in Chicago, flew via London to Moscow, and toured Red Square. We saw the famous St. Basil's church and there was a free concert honoring the pass-by of the Olympic flame.

On the first (and only) full day in Moscow, we toured the inside of the Kremlin, went to famous department store GUM, and took ourselves on a 7-ruble (25-cent) architectural tour of Moscow's famous underground Metro system.

This morning we took the "City Tour" by bus and saw lots of interesting buildings and places. In the afternoon we flew to Zurich.

This morning we started in Zurich, took a drive along the Zurichsee and then down to the Briensee, Interlaken, and Thunsee; visited Gruyeres and had a raclette lunch, and ended the tour with a visit to Bern and dinner with John and Kate's friends Jean-Pie
